M68000 and Linux

Post by Gerhard Grub » Tue, 06 May 1997 04:00:00

Does Linux run on m68000? A friend of mine wants to use Linux on a Amiga
500/2000 with the m68000 CPU. But I'm not sure if this CPU is supported.

Thanks.

You must have MMU. So a 68030 (or better) are required, I think.

Linux can run on Amiga 500 with an accelerator board.

AFAIK Linux needs a 68030+FPU.
Did he try MINT? It works on an m68000 (I've Atari Computers but I guess
that there is an Amiga-Mint).

That's what I thought and told him, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks
