Request to the "Wise-Persons",
I recently tried to install the linux debian 2.0.29 on a 486dx2-80.
Seemed to go in well except the system will not recognize the cdrom. It
is an NEC 4 speed 4 disk changer IDE drive running off an Alsound
(Soundblaster pro compat) sound card IDE port. I got 2 1.3gig hd's and a
floppy that get recognized with no problem. I tried mounting with all
the drivers availiable to my system, but to no avail...
What is real frustrating is that the base system is loaded without
the accessories. X is on cdrom. Frustrating to eye-ball the software
that can't be loaded.
Does anyone in the Linux guru world have any suggestions or, like I
suspect, the proper device driver for my cd. Any and all help is good
for one's karma.
thanx in advance... adam mccalla
