I have just bought a J-MED 1930 sound card. It should be SB 16
compatible, but after configuring it as such, only the OPL3 driver
appeared to be recognized.
Upon better reading of /usr/src/linux/drivers/sound/Readme.cards I see
that my card should be a MAD16 Pro (more or less) featuring an 82C930 chip.
From the accompanying booklet and from a test on a windows-based system
this card appears to be usable in Windows Sound System mode at address
0x530, with irq 11 and using dma 0. From the config utility screen I also
see that the default setting for the MPU401 is: address 0x330, irq 2/9.
Problem: when I boot the system will freeze with this message:
<MAD16 WSS (AD1848)> at 0x534 irq 11 dma 0,0
Any idea?
Upon rebooting, I am reverting to my *bootable* kernel with SB16 enabled.
Using it, I report some more info:
