1. IDE disk errors - new disk req??

Hi group,

I have a bunch of messages coming up on the console (see below for a
sample cut and paste from an xterm - while doing a buildworld)

ad0s1g: UDMA ICRC error writing fsbn 87624345 of 12732832-12733039
(ad0s1 bn 87624345; cn 5454 tn 92 sn 39) retrying
ad0s1g: UDMA ICRC error writing fsbn 87629369 of 12735344-12735471
(ad0s1 bn 87629369; cn 5454 tn 172 sn 23) retrying
ad0s1g: UDMA ICRC error writing fsbn 87651929 of 12746624-12746735
(ad0s1 bn 87651929; cn 5456 tn 20 sn 29) retrying

I sometimes get a variation on this message:
ad0s1g: UDMA ICRC error writing fsbn 65594649 of 1717984-1718159 (ad0s1
bn 65594649; cn 4083 tn 19 sn 57) falling back to PIO mode

Having just finished the buildworld I did
$ grep "Oct  3" /var/log/messages | grep ICRC | wc -l
       48

I'm running 4.7-RC from a couple of weeks ago.  The hardware in use is a
IBM Deskstar 120GXP (ad0) and a IBM Deskstar 75GXP (ad1) both on the
same 80pin IDE cable to connect to the primary (ATA100 capable) IDE
controller on a ABIT KT7A-RAID.  From dmesg the disk and controller are
detected as:
ad0: 39266MB <IC35L040AVVA07-0> [79780/16/63] at ata0-master UDMA100
atapci0: <VIA 82C686 ATA100 controller> port 0xd000-0xd00f at device 7.1
on pci0

Now given that this disk is only a few months old my question is: Is
this drive faulty or is there another component at fault, or can I
safely ignore these messages...
