Hi Herve,

I have a Pavilion 7125,  It comes with the stupid SiS6205.  I have been
in the same problem.  I'm able to have 640x480.  I have the
XFree86 3.2 version, you have to run the Xconfig or XSetup86.  If
you are abele to go beyond that, please let me know.

Adrian

I use the 3.2 release of XFree86 that support the "stupid" 6205,
as they say.
In fact I've seen 1024x768 with 256 colors just for two days ...
Now I'm not able to run anything excep 640x480.... due to
monitor stand by .... The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 15GLe ...
Is here anyone that can help me?

1. slackware 2.3 & Xfree3.1.1 & et4000

Hi,

I have a problem with my X-configuration.
I installed on my computer (386DX, 8MByte RAM,
Tseng et4000, IDE Harddisk, Floppy 3.25, Adaptec1542CF,
IBM SCSI Harddisk, Toshiba SCSI CDROM)
slackware2.3 andr xfree3.1.1, but I cannot start X.
It is my second installation of slackware, the former
one worked, but I don't have it any more.
Clocks are probed and then nothing more.
I have to reset my computer. Does anybody know why?
Thanks for a hint.

bye
andreas

The message with startx
