Greetings!
A few months ago I tried to install Redhat 5.2 on a Dell Inspiron 3200
with a DVD drive. After determining that neither the CDROM nor the
network install option would work (due to lack of default drivers for
either the DVD or the LinkSys Combo ethernet card) I tried to do the
install from a FAT partition on the hard drive.
Turns out *this* didn't work either (during the install process the FAT
hard drive partition could not be recognized). I checked here in c.o.l.s
and saw a message from someone at RedHat stating that the boot floppies
had a known bug which was causing my problem.
Does anyone know if this has been fixed? I can find no info at redhat.com
about boot floppy fixes or even anything that says there is or ever was a
problem.
Thanks!
Scott
