2 X-CD-Roast problems..

Hey folks...

Running RedHat 7.

I'm having problems getting either the newest release version of
X-CD-Roast (.96ex2) or the latest devel release (.98alpha6) working
properly.

For the alpha release (which I'd prefer to use), everything works fine
except for copying audio CDs.  The only option is for "On-the-fly"
copying and it won't let me change to creating an image first.  I
don't want to have to extract the tracks individually if I can help
it.  I've got the correct versions of cdrecord, cdda2wav, etc.

I can't even get the .96ex2 release to compile.  I have newer versions
of the dependencies (TCL, Tk, and Tix) and the ./configure script
doesn't seem to find them.  Here's the output:

# ./configure
Autoconfiguration of X-CD-Roast 0.96ex:
Checking for S.u.S.E.-Distribution: no
Looking for TCL 8.0-Library: not found
Looking for TK 8.0-Library: not found
Looking for Tix 4.1-Library: not found
Looking for Tix 4.1-SAM-Library: not found
Looking for TCL 8.0 lib-directory: not found
Looking for TK 8.0 lib-directory: not found
Looking for Tix 4.1 lib-directory: /usr/lib/tix4.1/
Looking for TCL/TK/Tix include-files: /usr/include/
No TCL 8.0 Library found. Please install TCL 8.0. (further information
can be found in the README.Compile-file)

RPM -q reports I have the regular RH7 versions already installed:

tcl-8.3.1
tk-8.3.1
tix-4.1.0.6

and I verified this.  Is there any way to reference these installed
libraries instead of having to build new (actually, old) libraries?
Any suggestions on either (or both) issues would be much
appreciated... Thanks..

Try rpm -rebuilddb  this may help.

1. X-CD-Roast Problem

Hi,

I' new to Linux, but things seem to be going OK so far. :-)

I have a question regarding X-CDRoast, which is as follows:

I can read a CD (both Data and Audio), and store the resulting image in
my HD.

However, after writing the CD (which takes some time, and the 'Record'
LED flashes, so I assume that something is being written to the disk) I
get an error message to the effect that 'Some error occured'. This
message is displayed only when the 'fixating disk' operation is
happening. The writing phase then stops, and I now have five extra
coasters.

Any help would be appreciated. There doen't seem to be any mention of
this problem in the readme and help files, but then this software seems
to be implemented with only SCSI drives in mind.

My System:

AMD K6-2 300MHz,
64MBytes Ram
2 times 5 GB hard drives (Primary master, Secondary master)
1 32X CD-ROM (secondary slave)
1 6X CD-ROM-RW (Phillips 3610) (primary slave)

SuSE 6.0 (and I downloaded the correct binary from the X-CDRoast site).

I have recompiled the kernel with SCSI emulation enabled etc, and like I
say, I can read and store CD images.

Any ideas? Or is this a genuine bug that I should report to the author?

Thanks in advance

Steve
