Post by Fredrik Mal » Wed, 27 May 1998 04:00:00

Hello !

I have downloaded  Staroffice 4.0 and i'm trying to install it on my
machine (RH5.0).

I have installed SO4.0 in my user catalog(/home/fmalm) and in
/usr/local, but when i'm running ./setup i only got error messages.

Is it because the libcproblem and if it is, where do i download and how
do i install the libc ??

Please mail me some helpful tips

See http://www.waldherr.org/soffice/, this has explicit instructions for
installing StarOffice on RH5.

A friend told me that RH5.0 has libc as well as glibc, it would help to see
what messages you are getting, perhaps someone can tell you how to alter ./setup
if that's necessary, the script only mentions the X library path.

Hi.  There's actually some fiddling that you need to do to get StarOffice running
successfully under RH5.0.  Instructions on how to do it can be found at:

http://www.waldherr.org/soffice/

Cheers,

Brendan

1. StarOffice 4.0 installation

Hi.

I've got a problem installing StarOffice 4.0. When I execute setup it
shows ordinary win-like blue background and two windows:

top window:
Installation
line 1: syntax error at token  'I' expected declarator, i.e. File ...
background window:
The script file is now being read.
Please wait a moment...

I tried installing it from cdrom and hard disk. Tried changing file
properties - nothing helps. Tried looking at script file - no effects.
I haven't modified anything after downloading it. Just unpadked and
wrote to cdrom.
I would be happy if someone helps (45 MB download for nothing ?)

Max
