Hello!
I'm trying to install linux, but it won't recognize my cd rom. I 'm using
an older version of Linux, circa Dec 94.
Here's what the system has:
1080M western digital HD, with a drive overlay to recognize all the
space,and a 260m seagate HD (both hd's are ide). I want to use th 1080 M
for dos, and the 260M for linux. I tried using the boota nd root disks,
which appeared to have no problems (i called the sony a NEC 260 CD rom),
but when I ran setup from the # prompt, it wouldn't recognize the CD.
Then I copied all teh files from the CD to the 1080 M drive, but Linux's
setup wouldn't recognize it as a DOS partition, but called it "other."
The computer is a packard bell 780, with a 486dx33, 128kcache, HT216
video with 1M, colorado 700 tape backup, Sony CDU-55E atapi CD, logitech
256 hand scanner, AWE 32 sound blaster, 14.4 USR internal modem.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

thanks!!!!!!!!!
