Make sure the /var/lock directory exists and is writable. In practice
/var/lock will probably want to be a symlink to /var/spool/uucp some
since other programs look there for locks.

Hi everyone,

I recently download the latest beta version of Kermit(i.e. 5A(192) Beta.016)
and compile it under my linux system.
It works fine as superuser but certain error that I have as normal user is
given below,

Linux Kermit> /var/lock: permission denied
Sorry, access to lock denied: /dev/cua3

Please, let me know if someone can figure it out and how to fix it.
