Is the voodoo banshee supported in linux, both the 2d and the 3d part?
(2d by XFree, I guess?
)

        Good news!!!!

I read this on 3Dfx's news server today...  One of the 3Dfx reps stated
that they (3Dfx) are going to _publicly_ release the 2D 'API' for the Banshee
cards!  The 3D side is going to be still done closed (for now) with Glide,
which has been ported to Linux.

I'm considering a Banshee myself now, and 3Dfx has just gained quite
a bit of respect from me with this decision.

1. SuSE Linux 6.2 - Voodoo Banshee Problem

I have been trying to configure XFree86 in SuSE Linux 6.2 for use with my
Generic
Banshee card. This, I believe, is built into the SVGA server.

I can configure it fine, however when starting X, there is a moving "noise"
down the left third of the screen. There is also more "noise" caused by
moving or resizing windows.

It's not a problem with the card, since I can install it fine in Redhat 6
with the
additional rpm's available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
