Setup Linux in Acer Extensa 500

I am new to Linux OS and I am going to install it to my labtop Acer
Extensa 500.
Please reply to me if there is any help or comments.

1. Troubles with my Extensa 500 Notebook. Help!!!

I have an ACER (Texas Instruments) Extensa 500T notebook equipped with a
NeoMagic MagicGraph 128 ZV+ video card and a SuperVGA 800x600 LCD TFT
monitor. The video card is not supported from XFree86 3.3.2-8, so I have to
run X with a VGA16 X server. I would rather find a better X server to have a
fully working Linux installation on my notebook.
The same problem regards the modem, an LT WinModem.

Could anybody help me, please?
