Dear netters,
recently I tried to setup a lilo boot config on a friends machine
(32mb intel 133, 2gb scsi, atapi CD). I told lilo to install
itself in the mbr of the first hard disk, and it looks like it
tries to go for the atapi cd-rom! The first line in lilo.conf
contained /dev/hda, so I changed that to /dev/sda by hand and
installed lilo again. Upon boot the lose95 partition would no
longer boot up, claiming some "I/O error" on the dos partition.
Currently we're booting linux off a linux boot disk, but of course
we'd like to run it off the hd to get rid of the floppy.
Is having an 1.5gb primary dos partition on /dev/sda1 a problem?
The controller is an AHA2940 if this matters.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Uwe
