why doesn't my ftp server work via network ?

CutMaster,

I've seen that problem, awhile back, but I don't remember the cause.
Let's go back to basics.  Can you ping 10.0.0.10?  Does
/var/log/messages tell you anything?

why doesn't my ftp server work via network ?

Hello.

When I try, on my RedHat linux server, to enter the command :

ftp localhost

everything works fine.
But, when I try to enter "ftp 10.0.0.10" on another networked
computer, it says :
connected to 10.0.0.10
and after about 15 seconds, it says
Connexion closed by host.

Can someone explain me why ?

Thanks

1. Why doesn't ftp work??

The title says it ... Why doesn't ftp work?

It work from a remote machine with the anonymous user id,
but won't work from any other id.  I've modified the
files /etc/ftpusers and /etc/ftpaccess, but am certainly
missing something ... seems like defining a class with
"real" in the typelist doesn't work.

Can anybody offer any soultions?
