How to correct "Unable to open an initial console"?

Hi there,
I used Slackware's bootdisk and rootdisk to install (initial
installation using floppy disks) on my hda2. After a few
tries, I was able to go through the whole installation procedure. I
actually made my own BOOTDISK. As expected, I used the BOOTDISK to boot
my newly installed Linux system. However, there is a problem: After a
seemingly normal booting sequence, an "Unable to open an initial
console" message showed up, and the system is dead. And I tried to
install with Loadlin from my hda1, the same message showed up.

Could anyone help me please! Thank you.
