Token Ring INstallation

Token Ring INstallation

Post by Rob Kode » Wed, 22 May 1996 04:00:00

Trying to use a Token ring card for BOTH TCP/IP and IPX to a Novell server.  I got the
Token Ring kernel patch, and the Token IPX patch.  But, the IPX patch wouldn't work on
the Token kernel.  The patch wouldn't apply.  Anyone have a DETAILED how-to on
installing AND configuring Token ring as mentioned above?

Thanks.

I'm assuming you're trying to do this with the 1.2.13 kernel, since
Token Ring and IPX are in the latest 1.3 kernels.  I would recommend
grabbing the following patch file which contains both the Token Ring
patch and the IPX/Novell support:

ftp://ftp.caldera.com/pub/cnd-1.0/patches/TRing-IPX-1.2.13.gz

Haven't had any problems with this setup...
