zmodem transfer fails

zmodem transfer fails

Post by Frank Ku » Thu, 20 Apr 1995 04:00:00

The problem: I can't do zmodem transfers from minicom or seyon. I get
CRC errors. However, I can transfer with zmodem just fine under DOS.

The setup:
        Pentium 75mhz pci.
        32 meg ram.
        usr 14.4 sportster external
el cheapo generic multi i/o card
using normal ISA bus (two serial, 1 parallel)
with 16550A uart (which linux detects)
        Linux 1.2.1 kernel
I'm using N,8,1 for terminal settings.

The solution?
        Plastic explosives.

Has anyone else had this problem? I looked at the doc for setserial,
and it didn't have any suggestions.

1. Using Zmodem for file transfer over a direct connection.

Could anyone tell me if their is something special that must be done on
either the unix or pc end to transfer files over a direct connection using
z/y/xmodem. I can get them to work over a modem connection but not a
null-modem connection.
