by I have a CDU55E attached to a sound card on irq 15. I am trying
to install slackware, but it will not recognize it. I have
created a boot disk with nec260 from slackware and updated the
kernel to 1.1.78, <yes I'm sure its 1.1.78 that gets booted>.
I made the new devices in MAKEDEV.ide1 and I've tried hdc=cdrom
and hdd=cdrom. Nothing works. With hdc=cdrom, i get an identification
timeout on hdc when the kernel looks for it.
Anyway, the problem is I cannot mount /dev/hdc nor /dev/hdd nor /dev/nec260
with and without -o ro,block-2048.
Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
