CPU boot problem

CPU boot problem

Post by Joch » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

I have replaced a defect cyrix pr200 cpu with a pr166. Now Linux does
not boot anymore.

Do I have to recompile the kernel for this cpu?

Or will a replacement with a cyrix 300 help?

You may if you've compiled with specific CPU optimizations, but I'd tend to
doubt it.

How about posting error messages or boot output?
