PC crashes during install of debian linux

Post by Mark » Wed, 11 Nov 1998 04:00:00

I am trying to install debian Linux on a Pentium 133 with 32 MB of RAM and
1.7 GB hard drive.  I have tried to install both from floppies and from the
DOS partition but I get the same result.  I enter no information at the
boot prompt but just hit the enter key.  The installation process seems to
be going fine until just after the following line is displayed and my
system then locks up.

hdb: DF6910C(-D18)2, ATAPI CDROM DRIVE

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Did you follow the instruction with in section 4 of
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/main/disks-i386/current/inst...

full details of your system (bus information, cards, etc).

What specifically is your hardware?
Have checked your bios settings?
