INND - shared writeable mapping

INND - shared writeable mapping

Post by Clark » Mon, 21 Aug 1995 04:00:00

HELP!!

I tried to upgrade my kernel from 1.1.59 to 1.2.8 and innd broke!!
Every time innd starts it gives a 'shared writeable mapping' error and
doesn't load! I've had to reload the 1.1.59 kernel.

RTFM doesn't address the issue. The Howto's don't mention it. None of the
Linux books I have or the O'Reilley's talk about it.......

Does anyone have any ideas?  Post or Email is fine, just please help!

System :
486/66 DX2  32M RAM
1.08G WD IDE   200M IDE
1.1.59 Kernel

I think this is because the newer kernel is catching an error in the
old INN. Current releases of Slackware seem to work just fine with
matching INN and kernel. I compiled INN with 1.2.13 and it works,
too, using my own custom config.data settings. I would replace the
old INN with a new one.

Actually I would upgrade everything.

FIXED!!!

Thanx to all those who EMail an answer - it was as 'simple' as recompiling
innd and reinstalling.
