I assume that you want to use the changers to export several CD to the NT
systems via Samba.  That is what we do and it works fine provided that:-

a) You use a SCSI changer.  ATAPI changers do not yet provide the required
capabilities.

b) If the NT systems try to access different CDs on one changer at the same
time then you get "changer thrashing".  The changer mechanism keeps swapping
drives but only delivers a small amount of data before changing again.
Total data rate under these circumstances is pretty minimal.  If your
changer is correctly listed in the scsi blacklist then the problem is
reduced, but it does not seem to go away completely.  One Nakamichi changer
is already listed in the blacklist, and I have arranged for the MJ-5.16 to
be added in version 2.0.36.

Another possible solution is to purchase a large (e.g. 10 Gb) EIDE hard
drive and simply copy all of the CDs onto it.  You may well find that this
is cheaper than buying a changer.  The only problem is that it will consume
more power and produce more heat inside your case and if you change the CDs
frequently it is a bit of a pain.
