Corel WP8 printing problems

Sports fans,

I installed WP8 on a RH5.0 system at work without problem.  Got it
running with my usual hideous colors- again no problem.

Printing is kicking my ass.  I use a samba printer attached to an NT4
SP4 server.  I print file from the command line, print the sample
Postscript and ASCII pages no sweat, but nothing from WP.  Needless to
say, a word processor is not much good without the ability to print.

I get a quick message saying the job's queued, nothing happens.  I have
tried it with the -P option specifically naming the printer and without
any options.  Ideas?

Someone mentioned a "passthrough to postscript" option. Have you tried
that?

Since this is printing to a remote printer, what did you pick as the
printer ?

Try selecting 'passthru postscript' or 'passthru text'.

I have a networked HP520 to which I normally print using samba and a
ghostcript filter. I also have the same printer under another name as a plain
text printer via samba.

I installed WP8, which has its own HP520 driver , so I installed this as a
WP printer with print command lpr -Prp1( print to the remote plain text
HP520). This works just fine.

So I guess WP8 creates the correct binary print file in HP520 format which
then gets passed through the plain text network printing path and comes out
fine on the printer.

Sports fans,

Thanks to all for the replies.  Turns out the solution was ridiculously
simple.  I selected "Print Document Graphically"  under File/Print/Output
Options.  Everything seems to be running just fine for now (till I hose it
again).

Merry Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/(whatever your season is) to all.

1. Printing using Corel WP8 for Linux

Hello

I run Slackware 3.6, kernel 2.2.14 and I have a Canon BJC 4100
printer. I print through a ghost script filter, and it has worked fine
for now. I downloaded Corel Wordperfect 8.0 for Linux, set it up, and
got the WP drivers as instructed in the documentation and installed
them. Can't seem to get the thing to print and I'm not sure whether
the problem is the WP driver or the Ghost script print filter.
Any suggestions or experience in this area would be appreciated.
