How can I get my Canon BJC-4300 printer working.

Post by BK » Mon, 11 Jan 1999 04:00:00

I have a Canon BJC-4300 printer connected to my RH5.2 system through
my SparQ drive.  I have used Control Panel's printer configuration
tool to configure my printer.  It's configured as a BJC-4000 series
printer.  It prints out regular text but not pictures.  I just get a
bunch of garbled crap.  It does this with or without my SparQ hooked
up as a pass-though.  What am I doing wrong?

1. Canon BJC-4300 doesn't work

Hi,

My Canon BJC-4300 doesn't work properly. It prints text, but no
graphics.

I know there were postings in this groups about the 4300 a few days ago,
but my provider seems to throw out all messages after 2 (two) days!
So all I have are the headers... Stupid, huh?

This is my printcap:

#
lp|bubble|canon|Canon BJC-4300:\
        :lp=/dev/lp1:sd=/var/spool/lpd/canon:\
        :sh:pw#80:pl#72:px#1440:mx#0:\
        :af=/var/log/lp-acct:lf=/var/log/lp-errs:
#

Thanks,
Guus.
