UNABLE TO FREE UP SWAPPER MEMORY error

UNABLE TO FREE UP SWAPPER MEMORY error

Post by A. Allen Be » Sat, 30 Mar 1996 04:00:00

I have been trying for months to get Slackware Linux to run on my ZEOS
Pentium 90 but to no avail.  During installation and while running Linux,
it often crashes with an error stating that it was unable to free up
'swapper memory'.  This always happens when I am typing something.  If I
just hold down one of the arrow keys, it will crash with the same error.
I have tried changing my keyboard scan rates and repeat rates but that
didn't have any affect on it.

Any advice or information would be GREATLY appreciated.

Is there someone who ever encountered a similar message?  What could
have caused this?

Thanks a lot for your time and help

p.s.: Sorry if it's the second time I post this message, but I forgot the title the
first time.
