I'm trying to tune my Netscape 4.05 to use cyrillic fonts in input
boxes.

I've tried both recommendations from Cyrillic-HOWTO (change default
iso8859-1 charset to koi8-r in Netscape.ad config file) and some
Perl-written patch that's supposed to replace all hardcoded Netscape
fonts, though with no success...

Did anybody succeed with such a tuning? Could you direct me through the
right steps?

1. KOI8-R in Netscape 4.05 mail & input boxes

I need to setup Netscape 4.05 under my Linux RH5.0 to fully support
KOI8-R (i.e. Cyrillic fonts). I've searched the Net and HOWTOs, and
found a lot of articles, but after performing all the recommended
patches still have 2 main problems:

1) Netscape browser still uses English font in input boxes, so that when
I type smth cyrillic it looks like a hell, though the other side
receives it as cyrillic

2) Netscape Mail still uses English font for composing the new message,
thus preventing me from writing cyrillic in E-Mails

In both situations the used font looks pretty the same, but I can't
figure out how it can be changed. Did anybody succeed with customising
Netscape for KOI-8? Would you please help me, because I'm almost
desperate?!...

I'd appreciate a lot if you crosspost your answers to my E-Mail.
