by Will any video chip run in generic, unaccellerated, 800x600 mode if
the setting are right? Or is this not necessarily the case? In which
case I may be wasting time.
I'm setting up XFree86 on my laptop. It has an unsupported NeoMagic
chipset. I'm trying to run 800x600 and 16 or 256 colors, but so far
only 640x480 and 16 colors is successful. I've been trying both SVGA
and VGA16 servers and have ModeLine settings that seem to make sense
and produce no warnings of modeline deletions.
