AMD79c974 SCSI support?

AMD79c974 SCSI support?

Post by John Walla » Fri, 15 Mar 1996 04:00:00

Strike another blow for worthless proprietary computer systems.

Are there any drivers which exist or are in development which
support the AMD79c974kc SCSI chip?  I found one of these suckers
in my Compaq Deskpro XL 5133 here at work, and as a result cannot
load Linux on the system.

1. Problem with AMD79C974 Pcnet-SCSI controller

We have problems booting Linux 1.2 on a HP Vectra XU 5/90C featuring an
on board integrated SCSI (and Ethernet?) chip, the AMD79C974
Pcnet-SCSI part. We tried with the AM53C974-0.3 kernel patch with no
succes: the SCSI controller is not recognised, and no debug message
appears from the driver, even when compiled with debugging enabled.

Did anyone got this working?

Thanks in advance for any help,

-Arrigo
