Need: patched *make* for new lib - can't use make 3.74

I upgraded to libc-5.3.12 and I can't recompile the kernel. I get some
message about not finding rules for clean. make -f Makefile fails as well.
I tryed to get the "make 3.74" source and the patches in
"release.libc-5.3.12" but I can't get them to compile i.e. I can't make
the make. I even tryed sh build.sh and no go. I probably need to tweek it
but it looks beyond the reach of my intellect. My current version of make
is 3.74.

Can a kind soul please tell me where to find the proper make executable  -
pre-compiled with the patches that will run with the latest lib and allow
me to compile kernel 1.3.97?

An e-mail (as well as a post here if possible) would be greately appreciated.

Here is an answer I got by e-mail. Worked great! Thanks to all.

It's compiled, just put make in /usr/bin overwriting old make.

1. Making a new kernel - CVSuped, not made world yet.

Hi,

Last time I made world was about a month ago; last time I CVSuped was
last night.  Would it be advisable to make world before building a new
kernel to add a couple of features.  Note, I haven't made clean in my
kernel build tree and the old object files are still there.
