Sample XF86Config for Cirrus Logic 6440 VGA controller?

Post by Dr. Wei » Sun, 11 Feb 1996 04:00:00

Greetings all...

I would like to install XFree86 on my Linux box (a laptop with a Cirrus Logic
6440 VGA controller, currently running Red Hat 2.1) - using the 16 colour
VGA server - and would like to know:

- If there is anyone out there that has a sample XF86Config file for the
same/similar setup which I could look at/use (or information about where I
could find such a file).
- If there is anyone out there that could provide me with any additional
advice etc. about installing XFree86 on such a machine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

1. Need XF86config file for Cirrus Logic 6440 with Xfree86 3.1

I'm installing Xfree86 3.1 and need with configuring it.  I know the CL6440
isn't supported, but I've heard that it has been done before using the
vga16 driver.  If anyone has or know of a pointer to the XF86config file
for my Sager NP3600 laptop, please, please let me know.

I've heard that version 3.1.1 will support this, can someone tell me
when this will be availble?

Thanks.  Please e-mail responses if possible.
