Newbie: Install network card in Mandrake 7.0

Post by Joshua Zimmerma » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

I'm trying to get my network card to function.  I tried using Lothar, and
it detects my card and tells me that it is already configured.  However,
when I attempt to access the internet, I get messages that the server
cannot be found.  Also, when Linux is loading, I get a failed message when
eth0 is attempting to initialize.  I know this is where my ethernet card
should be, but I have no idea on how to get it to work.  Hopefully, there
is someone out there that can help me.

What kind of network card do you have??  Is it ISA or PCI?

"Need the info."

Addendum to my question, I have a PCI card.  It's a Kingston Etherx KNE40T,
based on the DEC 21140 chip.
