Strange thing happening on my Windows NT 4.0 workstation....
Whenever I create a new System DSN, the DSN doesn't show up in the ODBC Data
Source Admin list afterward, even after reboot. The new DSN is there, it
just doesn't show up in the list. I looked in the registry, and sure
enough, the new DSN shows up under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources
What's strange is this used to work just fine...obviously something changed
on my PC, and it's affecting the ODBC Data Source Admin DSN list. This
causes me problems when I am using any third party application that requires
me to specify a DSN and I am forced to chose the DSN from a list that the
application provides (the new DSN's do not show up in these lists either !),
i.e., in Crystal Reports when I specify a data source by a DSN entry.
Any help is much appreciated.
