"Invalid Argument" ODBC error

"Invalid Argument" ODBC error

Post by Ahmet Saha » Thu, 10 Apr 2003 05:10:11

Hello,

I am working on Windows XP using Office 2000. I have some programs written
by Visual C++ 6.0. They were doing something  with Access DB over ODBC
driver.

I faced a registry problem on my machine, after then I repaired my XP
installation using its setup CD. After that, programs didn't work. First
they gave "not a valid password" error. I reinstalled Access 2000 and I
installed XP SP1, Office 2000 SP3. When I run them again, they started to
give "invalid argument". I don't know  what I can do to solve it.

Could you help me?

1. ERROR 3001 - "Invalid Argument"

I'm attempting to utilize the CreateDatabase command in VB 3.0 under
Windows 3.11 with the code provided in VB Help and I keep getting an
"invalid argument" ERROR 3001.  Can anybody give me some reason why?
The expression is quite straightforward and I am conforming to the
conventions  -

DIM DB as Database
DIM DBNAME as String
DBNAME = "B:\NEWDB.MDB"
Set DB = CreateDatabase(DBNAME, DB_LANG_GENERAL)

etc., etc.

It crashes on the SET command line every time .....

Any help would be appreciated.
