How to choose a type of database in this situation?

Post by christi » Tue, 12 Mar 2002 15:57:07

I want to choose a type of database in this situation:
1)It only works in Windows environment;
2)There will be noly less than 10 people visitting it at the same
time;
3)It supports common SQL operation with a high efficiency;
4)There will always be several large tables which contain more than
millons of records ;
5)It should be easy to transport datas of other databases to this type
of  database,in other word ,this type of database should have
compatibility
6)It should be easy to visit this type of database

Is there anybody who can give me some advices
thanks a lot

Hi There,

You've asked a very open ended question and basically would be replied
to based on readers skillset/opinion as many many different db
technologies will do what you require....

In terms of ease and compatiability I guess SQL SERVER is probably the
easiest answer - in terms of power perhaps Oracle is a winner...
Either way both will do the job.

Cheers,

It's part of Lotus Suite, like the Access of MS Office. Not easy to find
now.
