FoxPro 2.6 Graph Wizard

FoxPro 2.6 Graph Wizard

Post by Gary Axtel » Thu, 18 Jan 1996 04:00:00

Hi all! We're having a problem with the Graph Wizard and
GENGRAPH.APP. On some machines the graph doesn't show up in the
window when the wizard is finished. It says "Here's your graph!"
and there's nothing there! Nothing but an empty window shows up
when you click the Zoom button, and if you click Print, the
printer spits out a blank page.

We're trying to get exact system specs for the machines it runs on
and the ones it doesn't. In my case it works fine on my 75Mhz
Pentium with 16MB RAM, but doesn't work on my 25Mhz 486SX laptop
with 8MB RAM.

Any help would be appreciated as we are scheduled to demo our
application next week!

TIA

Is MS Graph properly registered (in the Registration database) on all
machines.  You might want to run RegEdit.exe and see what values are
stored there (path, etc.)

Have you checked the results of the cross tab query?

Do a cross tab (via query builder perhaps) and send the results to
a graph.  If it works, save it and view the table created by
gengraph.app and not the differences between the one that works and
the one that doesn't.

Thanks for repsonses. What it turned out to be was a missing entry
in WIN.INI (don't you just luvvvvvv Windows!). If anyone is
interested, the [embedding] section of WIN.INI must contain the
following line:

MSGraph=Microsoft Graph, Microsoft
Graph,C:\yourpathhere\GRAPH.EXE,picture

Thanks again!

1. Migrating Graphs from FoxPro 2.6 to Visual FoxPro.

I am attempting to migrate a working application from FoxPro 2.6 to
Visual FoxPro 3.0.

I have a graph embedded in a report that gets updated via the commmand:

DO UpdateGrph with GENGRAPH etc etc

Under FoxPro 2.6 this works great but under Visual the chart doesn't get
updated.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
