FPW 2.6 + DK + Win32s + run?

FPW 2.6 + DK + Win32s + run?

Post by Shoham, Id » Sat, 20 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I have FPW2.6, and use it with the distribution kit (professional
version, or whatever they called it when the box came in the mail)
to build stand-alone executable programs.

I've been trying to get a FPW2.6 executable to launch a Win32S
executable -- which is not an FPW program (build with Borland C++4.5)

When I use "run /n filename args..." from my application, inside
FoxPro, it works fine.  However, when I use the same command from
the executable, I get an error message.

Does anyone have any clues?  I've searched the MS KB and found
nothing..

What error message are you receiving?

1. FPW 2.6 DK problem

File Copy operation failed - incorrect number of
bytes written to disk - source file or destination
disk may be corrupted - use ChkDsk.
     Source: 'B:\4526549.SE$'
     Dest: 'D:\CEEVENTS\FOXW2600.ESL'

          <Abort>   <Retry>   <Ignore>

Anyone have experience with the above error?  This occurred when
attempting to install an application that I compiled and used SETUP.APP to
create distribution disks for.

I've tried installing my app on different machines, using different
floppies, and recompiling a zillion times.  The only conclusion that I can
make is that the distribution kit compiler somehow records the number of
bytes that are supposed to appear in the uncompressed file(s), and that
this number is being recorded wrong.

Using <Retry> gets me nowhere (of course), while <Abort> bails out of the
installation.  After about 40 <Ignores> the install procedure runs to
completion but the application is majorly corrupted and won't run.

As usual, I'm on a deadline to deliver this software.  Any help is
appreciated!
