VB and Sybase SQL

VB and Sybase SQL

Post by P. van Leeuwe » Sat, 29 Jun 1996 04:00:00

I used Sybase SQL Anywhere 5.0 to create a database with one table.
The page size of the Database is 2048 (I have also used page sizes of
1024 and 512) and the table consists of 12 columns and approximately
9000 rows. Everything works fine when I access the database using Sybase
Interactive SQL interface on the same computer as the SQL server, so I
know the database works.

My problem is with my Visual Basic interface. I use the Remote Data
Control to access the Database Firstly it opens another instance of the
server, although there is one currently running. The biggest problem is
that I am denied access to the database with the error message:

DATABASE PAGE SIZE TOO LARGE.

Can anyone please tell me what am I doing wrong?

I use VB 4.0 Enterprise Edition on a 486DX50 machine.

Thanks
