   From Doct*& Masters Students
     A Proceedings Will Be Published

Information 2000:  An Interdisciplinary Future is a two-day conference
for students in the Information Professions, which is designed to offer
Masters and Doct*students the opportunity to present a broad range of
papers, posters and table-top demonstrations that point the way to the
interdisciplinary future of information.  

Information 2000 is sponsored by the North Texas Student Chapter of the
American Society for Information Science & the University of North Texas
School of Library and Information Science.  The conference will take
place July 14th and 15th, 1994 on the University of North Texas campus
(Denton, TX).  During Information 2000 students will have the opportunity
to present, interact with each other and meet professionals from academia
and the information industry.  

The conference is structured around five themes:
      *Business Information System
      *Computer Science
      *Educational Technnology
      *Library Science
      *Medical Informatics

Attendees are invited to submit papers, posters, and tabletop
demonstrations on:
       *Original research,
       *Evaluation of information systems,
       *Theoretical explorations of a theme area, or
       *Surveys of the state of the art in a theme area.

*Deadline for submission of complete papers, proposals for poster
sessions and/or proposals for tabletop demonstrations is May 31st.

*Contributors must have been enrolled in a degree program on or before
May 31, 1994.  

*Contributed papers should not exceed 5 pages in length.  

* Proposals for poster sessions and demonstrations should not exceed 1
page in length and should include equipment needs.

* All submissions should be accompanied by a text file on disk (IBM or
Mac) or be sent via e-mail.  Submissions should include the author(s)
name, address, phone, school and e-mail address.  
*Notification of acceptance will be June 14.

*Accepted papers, posters and tabletop demonstrations will be published
in a proceedings available at the conference, or by order.

Arrangements for out of town participants can be made. Please contact the
conference chair for more information.
