Has anyone there encountered a problem like this ? If yes
can they help me in this.
The Problem is like this.
A database (Sybase) is being updated regularly by some applicattions.
(A large no of tables are updated)
Whenever there is an update a process (outside SQL SERVER)
should be able to catch this and do some processing. There is
a requirement that Database should not be overloaded by this
process capturing updates. Is there a way of doing this (other than
monitoring of tables by polling ).
We are also thinking of using Sybase Replication Server to replicate
this database , and work on the replicated database so that the
original database is not overloaded. Is there a better , efficient
way of doing this ?
I hava another question regarding triggers . Can the triggers
to outside SQL Server (like kicking of a process ? or writing to a file
I am new to database applications , so if the questions sound too
ametaurish please excuse.
With best regards,
I started out with nothing. I still have most of it left.
