DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
The Information Technology Division has a position vacancy for an
experienced Database Administrator. Working with a group of
Database Analysts and Application Developers, the incumbent will
be responsible for implementing technology and methodology
policies and procedures to ensure the effective creation,
maintenance and use of computerized databases for the CWB. We
are currently in the process of completely converting from a PL/1
IMS DB/DC environment to a client/server environment using Sybase SQL Server
under AIX, PowerBuilder, Bachman Analyst and Bachman DBA.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Computer Science degree and/or
equivalent related experience. The successful candidate will be a highly
motivated individual with extensive experience in designing and
implementing complex relational and hierarchical databases in a large
corporate environment; extensive experience and understanding of the
performance and usability considerations and trade-offs required
to support a mixed transaction, batch and end user query environment;
demonstrated leadership ability with strong communications, analytical,
problem solving and decision making skills required.
