JOB TITLE: SYST DESN INTGR SPEC, DESIGN AND INTEGRATION

DESCRIPTION: PEOPLESOFT ENVIRONMENT MGR FOR MAJOR CORPORATION IN THE ST. LOUIS AREA. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: PLAN, COORDINATE, DEFINE REQUIREMENTS, AND MANAGE THE CREATION OF NEW PEOPLESOFT ENVIRONMENTS AND CHANGES TO EXISTING ENVIRONMENTS. WILL INCLUDE PLANNING AND COORDINATING MANY ENVIRONMENTS ACROSS MULTIPLE DATABASE SERVERS AND MULTIPLE PROJECT SOFTWARE RELEASES. WORK WITH VARIOUS TEAMS TO ESTABLISH HIGH LEVEL ENVIRONMENT FORECASTS FOR EACH PHASE OF THE PROJECT AND PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION TO CAPACITY PLANNING AS A BASELINE ESTIMATE. THIS JOB REQUIRES COORDINATION ACROSS MULTIPLE TECHNICAL AND SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAMS. RESPONSIBLE FOR APPLICATION AVAILABILITY, COORDINATE OUTAGES WITH THE ENVIRONMENT OWNERS AND OUTAGE COORDINATION, COORDINATION OF APPLICATION BUY OFF WHEN DATABASES ARE RECOVERED. PROVIDE TECHNICAL PLANNING SUPPORT TO EVENT PLANNING AND THE RELEASES FOR IMPLEMENTATIONS. WORK WITH THE SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT GROUP TO ESTABLISH, DOCUMENT, AND COMMUNICATE SOFTWARE MIGRATION PATHS, BLOCKPOINT SCHEDULES, AND PROCESSES. COORDINATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPUTING INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT AS IT RELATES TO ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES.
Experience Required:
SKILLS: MUST HAVE STRONG PLANNING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS, INCLUDING THE ABILITY TO DEVELOP, MAINTAIN, AND WORK DETAILED PLANS. BROAD TECHNICAL BACKGROUD INCLUDING AN UNDERSTANDING OF CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT CONCEPTS WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF UNIX OPERATING SYSTEM, RELATIONAL DBMS, PREFERABLY ORACLE, AND WINDOWS 95/NT OPERATING SYSTEM. THE ABILITY TO WORK WITH END USERS, SOFTWARE
DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER PROJECT PERSONNEL TO DETERMINE AND DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS. GOOD DOCUMENTATION AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS. STRONG ANALYTICAL SKILLS WITH THE ABILITY TO APPLY TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE TO SOLVE PROBLEMS. EXPERIENCE WITH PEOPLESOFT, ESPECIALLY THE PEOPLESOFT ARCHITECTURE AND SYSTEM ADMIN. DESIRE UNDERSTANDING OF UNIX SERVER AND DISK SYSTEMS HARDWARE AND ARCHITECTURE IN A CLIENT SERVER AND RELATIONAL DBMS ENVIRONMENT. TEAM PLAYER WITH THE ABILITY TO LEAD AND OR FOLLOW.
