Still looking for someone to verify souce code as 3rd party

Post by vicki m. horstm » Mon, 12 Feb 1996 04:00:00

I am still looking for someone or a company to verify source code as a
3 party.

My company bought a program running on r83.  The company that sold the
software won't give up the source code.  My company is having the
source code put in escrow with our lawyers but we need a 3rd party to
verify that the source code actually exisits on the tape.

If anyone can provide this service or knows someone/company that does
please let me know.

Regards,
Ralph

Ralph,

Where are you located?  Can one dial in and use telecommunications to
examine the tape?  What are your time constraints?  What is your
$compensation range for the project.  Do you simply want to verify that
source exists on the tape, or also to get an informed opinion about
whether any such source would work?  How many reels of tape are there?
What is the size of the tape reels?

Basically, anyone would need more information before being able to make
any offer to examine this tape.

What kind of tape?  You probably mean to verify that it is source code
for your software?  Or just that there's _something_ on the tape?

If I can read the tape (I have 1/4 inch and R83) I'd be willing -- but
I'd be careful about what I said was on the tape.  For example, it would
be easy to say "There is a PICK account on the tape."  That would be
about as far as I could go without going into a lot ...

What is it you really need?

Oddly enough there is a company in Orem Utah called 3rd Party, that is
a Pick shop, and they have been in Pick for Oh 12 years, some of them,
give them a call and ask for Greg Gunn.
