Excel2Ingres v2.0 is a data conversion tool for Excel 97 or above.
It is designed to automate the laborious process of raw data
analysis and conversion to Ingres tables.
You can import most file formats, including tab & comma delimited,
into Excel, and at the click of a button, Excel2Ingres will work out
the formats of each column, create an SQL script to create a table,
and produce a correctly formatted version of your data.
It also creates a script to copy the data back from the table later.
There are single-click facilities to FTP your data down to your Ingres
Server, and back again. You can even import ISQL output into a
properly formatted Excel spreadsheet - again, in ONE CLICK.
Excel2Ingres comes with comprehensive on-line help, and sample data.
Each conversion is also configurable in a number of useful ways.
This program has been tested and used in a live corporate environment.
Special Requirements: Excel 97 or above

* Executed programs such as notepad, wordpad, and FTP, now have defaults
according to whether using Win95 or WinNT
* Improved Dialog Box uses check-boxes instead of YES/NO, drop-down list
for delimiter, and includes new fields
* New parameter VDATA to specify if you wish to view the DATA file only
using the Viewing button
* New parameter VDEFS to specify if you wish to view the DEFINITION (in
& out) files only using the Viewing button
* Specify directory location and filename for when viewing data output
using DTAED parameter
* Specify directory location and filename for when viewing any other
output using OTHED parameter
* Specify an alternative location / parameters for FTP program using the
FTPLC parameter
