foxpro 2.6 dos to 2.6 unix

I am trying to move a project (pjx) from 2.6 dos to 2.6 unix.  The
unix side does not open the project once I put it on the unix machine.
I'm using ftp to move the data across.  What am I doing wrong?

It should open it.

Try to do a "use xxx.prj" to see if the file is not corrupt in transport...

If the project file fits on an MS-DOS floppy, you might try copyng it to a
floppy and from linux, mounting the floppy drive as an MS-DOS file system
and copying from it - if you have a dual boot machine, mount the DOS drive
and use cp.

Jamie, I'm not familiar with the file systems that Linux keeps, although it's
supposed to be 'unix' like.  When copying files from DOS to UNIX, you remove
the carriage returns before using.  Dos uses a line feed AND a carriage return
to terminate a line.  Unix ONLY uses a line feed.  SCO Unix comes with a DOS
utility (doscopy) that strips carriage returns from the file it's copying.

You might want to check and see if your FTP program has options to strip chars
from a file as it's being transfered.

Most probably using ASCII mode of transfer.
