I'm on a committee whose charge is to evaluate mainframe solutions for our
school district.  One of the leading bidders is Software AG whose solution is
Adabas with Natural as its 4gl - does anyone know anything about these
products? or use them?

Washington State University has used these products for many years.  I
have recently begun to use them.  It is a powerful database system and
Natural is an easy to use language.  I'm not an expert but if you have
more specific questions about the product I'll try to answer them if

Our group at Purdue University has used ADABAS and NATURAL, first on IBM
mainframes and now on a DEC VAX 4500, since 1981.  Overall we have been
pleased with the power, flexibility and upgrades to these products over
the last dozen years.  I or our database administration staff would be
glad to answer specific questions.

We use Adabas/Natural on a VMSCluster.  Adabas is a screamer its so fast
and Natural is a decent 4GL.  We've used these products for 5+ years (I'll
have to double check -- I've only been here two years).
