Ever since I was immersed in Express (oh, about 2 1/2 years ago), I have
been
doing nothing but patches and fixes for all my client databases. None of
what I
did is pretty to the local guru, but it gets the job done and the client
happy -
everyone happy.
What you can do is create an object based on the dimension that you are
trying to sort by, and make a value set - whether by a simplistic number
set
(1, 2, 3, etc), or by a variable that us DBAs (at the place where I earn
industry-low cash) use. If you want, I can look this up, and you can use
it similarly - we use it for many dimensions, such as (in the CPG industry)
Time; some clients wants to see time, not as it was created in the OLAP
database, but as they see fit. I think this latter method uses the
dimension
identifier codes for sorting, as well as 'hiding'.

P.S. Okay, sue me, this is a lowly way of doing it (for all you Express
gurus) which is quick and simple.
P.P.S. Oh and another thing, watch out for lower and uppercase letters,
these make a difference too! Example:
Dollar Sales
Dollar Sales CHANGE YEAR AGO
Dollar Sales Change Year Ago
Dollar Sales Percent Change Prior Period
Dollar Sales Percent Change Year Ago
(Yes, this actually happened in a client database. The damned client
contact
person was dumb enough to make the measure when it was already in it,
according to the specifications of the database)
