Hi, in access2000 I dont have any problem to attach paradox's tables but
under access97, nothings goes.  I already have the BDEadmin and an one
define ODBC DSN.  May be one or more settings are not correct.

What do I check first?

thank you

Somewhere on the M$ Office97 install CD is a "data access pack" that
installs extra filters to Access97 that will allow Paradox tables to be
imported or linked. This data access pack also used to be downloadable
from the M$ web site.

Thanks,
going better but still have error.  Table's name are more than 8 char long
and error message shows a cut table's name to 8 char and says 'tables not
found' (??)
For testing I try to rename tables to 8 or less characters and Bingo (except
for table where I have .val file), but I cannot rename any table's name for
this database.

In fact, what are .val files?

thanks again

Instead of re-naming tables, copy the tables and give them a new name.  This
will change all files associatied with the table such as .val, .px etc.

.VAL files are where the validity checks for the columns in the table
are stored, Min and Max allowable values, that kind of stuff.  I think
these files can be deleted without hurting the data in the tables, but
you will lose the validity checks of course.  For info on associated
table files look at:
