Need copies of Paradox 4.5 for DOS disks

Post by Aaron Cies » Fri, 19 Dec 1997 04:00:00

At works, we just completed an upgrade of our computer systems.
However, when we tried to install Paradox 4.5 for DOS on the new systems,
we found that the original disks were damaged and unreadable.  No disk
repaire utilities were able to restore the disks.

We have a several large database that we need to run.  Inorder to
maintain the databases on a daily basis, we have kept one of the old
computer systems.  However, we would like to transfer the databases to the
Win95 machines.  Could someone please email me the copies of all the
original diskettes.

P.S.  Would Paradox 4.5 for DOS run under Win95 OSR2 with the FAT32
file system?

Thanks alot!

If you have a working copy of PdoxDOS 4.5 on one of your computers, why
not just copy all the expanded files to disks or across a network and
copy them on.  This is a DOS application and doesn't have all the
problems that Windows/Win95 applications do of .ini files and registry
entries.

Pdox 4.5 DOS works under Win95OSR2.  The one thing to remember on new
computers is to limit the available memory to less than 16 Meg, by
placing the -extk #### switch in the command line (where #### is any
number from 8000 to 16000).

Need copies of Paradox 4.5 for DOS disks

Aaron: you're not allowed to send copies of
Pdox disks to another person on an unaudited
basis.. if you are a licensed owner, you can
get replacement disks from Borland.. with
*valid proof of purchase*, another Pdox owner
can give you copies of their disks.. I do it
for people all the time, but you *must* have
valid paperwork..

Or, you could simply copy the files from the
machine they're on now <smile>

As for Win95, not problem.. FAT32 or NTFS on
the workstation itself, *big* problem, especially
if your app shells to DOS for other things..
