I have a client with Fourgen 3.8x Accounting software.
and Informix 4.0x SE, RDS on SCO plateform.

The client plans on upgrading(rebuying) Informix to the
most recent version(7.x).  Of course they don't have
support....

My current concern is:  I seem to recall a problem with
with Fourgen using rowids extensively in their programs.  I thought
this became a problem with Informix versions 6.x and up.

Has anyone run into a problem with this.

I do realize that I will need to get UCL's that are(or can be) compiled
for 7.x Informix.

Accounting modules - currently at release 3.9 or 4.0 depending on the version
of the CASE Tools and the CASE Tools 4.12 or 4.13.  (Accouting 4.0 is dependent
on CASE Tools 4.13) are available from Data Pacific Corp.  Rowid is not a
problem, and contrary to the other response, you no longer have to use the
relay module for Informix engine version 7.xx.

The CASE Tools have also been enhanced to support 4J's Universal Compiler,
which provides you the ability to compile your text based 4GL and use a
Graphical front end under X-term, or any of the Windows products (3.1, '95 or
NT) on the same network as text based.  You can also run a "P" code application
on Windows NT.
