Hello everyone!

Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.30.UC1
SunOS slsudv03 5.7 Generic_106541-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-Enterprise

Has anyone encountered this problem before?
We are trying to do a level 0 backup thru legato on a test server.

This is a portion of the bar_act.log file.

 2002-04-08 15:58:55 7057  7055 Begin level 0 backup rootdbs.
 2002-04-08 15:58:55 7057  7055 An unexpected error occurred:  ld.so.1:
/appl/in
formix/infxsw01/bin/onbar_d: fatal: /usr/lib/ibsad001.so: open failed:
No such f
ile or directory .
 2002-04-08 15:58:55 7057  7055 Could not open XBSA library
/usr/lib/ibsad001.so

Here is my onstat -c|grep BAR output
BAR_ACT_LOG     /appl/informix/log/bar_act_ifx0178.log
BAR_MAX_BACKUP  5
BAR_RETRY       1
BAR_NB_XPORT_COUNT 10
BAR_XFER_BUF_SIZE 31
BAR_BSALIB_PATH /usr/lib/ibsad001.so
BAR_PROGRESS_FREQ 0

Here is where the ibsad001.so is located
=> ls -l ibs*
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     other          9 May 24  2000 ibsad001.so ->
libbsa.so

=> pwd
/usr/lib

Informix Technical Support recommended to change the BAR_BSALIB_PATH to
$INFORMIXDIR/lib/libbsa.so. But all our production servers use
BAR_BSALIB_PATH /usr/lib/ibsad001.so and the backup is working fine..

'appreciate any help and thanks in advance..

Hi Sheila.

Have you run ism_startup -init?
Command "ism_startup" will be symbolic-link $INFORMIXDIR/lib/... ->
/usr/lib/...

Regards.

Hi,

You mean legato module for Informix 2.0? Then, after proper installation of that module, you have to make a soft link to the XBSA library, as user root:

ln -s /usr/lib/libxnmi.so.1 /usr/lib/ibsad001.so

And, make sure the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sm_versions file contains the proper entry of the storage manager. As far as I remember, the following line should be present:

1|1.0.1|nwbsa|1

Regards,
Praveen.

onbar backup problem

You're right. The problem is the link to libxnmi.so.1 and our System Adm have fixed this.

The backup is now working.

Thanks to you all who responded and I appreciate the help!
